Event Alert! go local Community Meal – Holiday Edition

We’re pleased to announce our third go local Community Meal will take place on Tuesday, December 16!

Community meals are a way for us to return to the table, share a meal and celebrate the season together. And as it is the first day of Hannukah, the start of the holidays and the winter Ontario harvest, we’re serving up potato latkes! Delicious, fried, potato latkes made with tender Ontario potatoes and topped with autumn applesauce and sour cream!

Latkes are traditionally cooked on Hanukkah along with other fried foods, to commemorate the miracle of the menorah oil in the Jewish Temple. Here are some more facts about Hannukah and latkes themselves.

So if you’re still kickin around on campus on Tuesday, December 16, come on by the Hub Café!

As is tradition with our Community Meals, it’s $7 or Pay What You Can. The PWYC pricing model gives the customer the ability to decide what amount to pay for a service. Ryerson Eats takes pride in offering great value to the Ryerson community. We are always looking for ways to provide fresh, healthy food to all, including those who don’t always have access to it. We hope that the PWYC will be a sustainable model of payment that can make our programming more authentically accessible.

If you have any questions or concerns, let us know by phone (416 979 5021) or email (melissa.yu@ryerson.ca)!

Thanks and stay warm!
